Katherine's plan is to teach her mom the proper moral and niminy-piminy attitudes and behavior that will insure she is accepted back into her old town and settle down into a routine that will avoid bringing scandal to the family!
Each looked forward to this arrangement with a bit of hesitation. As you'll see, this hesitation was justified.

Episode 15 (of 22) In spite of a certain trepidation on everyone's part, Betty was invited to join a ladies book club at the church, and decided to accept. As a former English teacher, she was interested in the reading selections, but she resolved to hold her tongue about the literary qualities of the selected reading material as not to cause a fuss. By the end of the meeting there was a fuss.

Autorenporträt

Gene Clements is an artist, architect, and educator. He began the Tilly and Elmer series by writing a couple of paragraphs about a frisky older couple. His friends thought they were funny and wanted to find out what was going to happen if he finished the story. Now they know, for better or worse.
Gene grew up in a small town in the Midwest although he now lives in California. He thinks he's eighteen, but he's really the same age as Tilly and Elmer. These stories aren't necessarily autobiographical. Gene knows a lot of interesting people and has a prolific imagination; a dangerous combination.
