Growing up in an area studded with standing stones and ogham stones, is it any wonder she is high on history, ar bís le hársaíocht, stoned on antiquities. Rousseau's 'noble savage' may never have meant very much ... until now. Gabriel Rosenstock This is the second collection from Ní Chinnéide and follows An Trodaí/The Warrior, which was published to great acclaim in 2006. This new, more substantial, collection touches on some of the same themes - a love of her homeplace in Corca Dhuibhne in the Kerry Gaeltacht, poems inspired by her young son and the character of An Trodaí/The Warrior, as well as exploring new territory inspired in particular by the poet's work with the European Parliament.
