Dr. Derengowski was born in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. He attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, where he graduated with a B.A. in Pastoral Theology and Bible. He then moved to Fort Worth, Texas where he earned Master of Divinity (M.Div.) and Master of Theology (Th.M.) degrees, the latter concentrating on New Testament studies. He earned his Ph.D. from North-West University, Potchefstroom, South Africa; his concentration was in Theology with Dogmatics.
