Thevakie Karunagaran's interests are writing short stories in English and in her own mother tongue Tamil. She focused her interest in writing after retiring. Two of her English stories have been published in Sydney magazines and stories in Tamil have been published in well-known magazines in South India and leading newspapers in Sri Lanka. Her collection of 12 short stories titled' Anbin Aazham' (Deep Love) was published in Sydney in 2014.
