Type 2 diabetes is one of the fastest growing diseases in the world, especially in the African American community. Diabetes has run in my family for generations and has always been treated as somewhat the norm. When being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes we are never really told we can reverse it but instead piled with medication as if it's a life sentence. My family always regarded Type 2 diabetes as an incurable, lifelong condition, where you hear stories about it becoming progressively worse over time, possibly resulting loss of vision, amputation, and even death.
I set out on this journey to healthy and reversing diabetes because I didn't want to be a statistic. I wanted, no I needed to defy those odds. I had no guidance or examples to follow and had to learn the dos and don'ts as I went, so I am sharing my journey to reversing diabetes, with the hope of helping someone else to live a healthier longer life.
