As a Pre-k teacher for almost 2 decades in the South Bronx, I have taught my students about Homes and the different types of homes around us. I want all of my students and children everywhere to feel included and heard about all topics. There was a need for a story that could help introduce the topic of homelessness. My hope is that this story will not only allow students to feel included, but to help start a new conversation around homes for our youngest and most precious learners.

There are different types of homes. Some people live in houses or apartments. Some people live in homes called shelters too. This book will help introduce another type of home that is often unspoken of. This book will allow children that might be living in a temporary home or shelter to feel included in the discussion of different types of homes as well as teach other children about the types of homes people can live in. In this story we learn that the most important thing in a home is love. No matter where you may live.
