Meet Juliet Smith as she goes about her busy day in London, rising early, praying for herself, her family and those in her community. It is an orderly life, but she has suffered poverty, hardship and occasional abuse. Despite her ordeals, Juliet is upbeat, her faith in the Lord solid, her commitment to her church and volunteering work unyielding. Juliet maintains the faith she gained as a teenager in Sierra Leone, and she thanks and praises Lord Jesus Christ for his suffering. Now join Juliet, as she tells of her pride in her son, Jenner, who inspires her; hear of a family that took advantage of her good nature, and sometimes helped her. Above all, learn of Juliet's faith; how steadfast belief in God shapes her life in a world full of prejudice and bigotry.
Autorenporträt
Juliet Smith was born in London but spent most of her early life in Sierra Leone. Later she returned to London and settled down to a life of hard work, but became a victim of racism, crime and bigotry. She was abused, both in London and Sierra Leone. However, her faith in God has kept her going, and though she has sometimes strayed from the way of the Lord, she has always found her way back into the fold. Juliet lives in Wimbledon and is an enthusiastic churchgoer, as well as an avid listener to Christian radio. She has a qualification in Business Administration from Sierra Leone but has found it difficult to establish a career in the UK. Even so, Juliet finds meaning in the work she can find. Despite having suffered great hardship, Juliet¿s faith in God has led her to see the positive side of life. She takes great delight in her grown-up son Jenner as well as her fellow churchgoers, to whom she is eternally grateful. She serves her community in Wimbledon as an active volunteer for a variety of church projects.
