My book is about an eight-year journey of getting a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease. I have ten to eleven years of experience working as a physical therapist assistant. I have experience in water, hospital, and nursing home while battling this condition. I have had to plead my own disability case and, after being awarded my back pay, found the treatment of choice, which is stem cell. I am the first person in West Tennessee to have this treatment. The stem cell treatment stops the progression of the disease and the symptoms. While waiting to get the stem cell treatment, I used my experience as a physical therapist assistant to help control my symptoms such as line dancing, playing cards, and swimming that stopped the tremor. My hope is that my journey and experiences will help other people who are dealing with Parkinson's disease and similar conditions and to get the awareness out to the community.

Autorenporträt
My name is Robin Wood and am a survivor of Parkinson's disease at the age of 42. I grew up in the Carroll county area and graduated from Milan High School in 1994. I was saved at the age of 11 years old and baptized at Carroll Lake. While attending high school I was involved in band and played clarinet. i marched in the Strawberry Festival, held in Humboldt Tn and the Fish Fry held in Paris TN. Upon graduating from high school, I attended Jackson State Community College, and while taking basic courses I noticed a student in a wheel chair and thought to myself it sure would be nice to help someone. This lead me to apply to Physical Therapist Assistant Program. I graduated in 1999. I had trouble passing my State Board exam, but went to work as a technician in Physical Therapy. I got married and after being married several years my husband and I tried to have a child so got off birth control pill and got sick and had to get back on the pill and noticed I functioned better and went back and passed State Board to practice Physical therapy and went to work.
