His talentedly conceived and brilliantly realized breakthrough of the front of the Austro-German troops in 1916, dubbed Lutsk and later Brusilov, was reflected throughout the course of the world war. Brusilov left behind a memoir called "My Memories", devoted primarily to his service in Tsarist and Soviet Russia.
