Kate Campbell was a student at the University of Western Australia in 2007 when she was involved in a boat crash that left her with serious injuries. Over the next five years she faced difficult surgeries, physical rehabilitation and depression, as well as a legal battle to have her medical costs recouped. She spent some time living and working in Germany, worked for a short time in Sydney, and currently works as an accountant in Perth.
