She has no memories of her past lover and tells him to leave. He's not sure what possessed him to reject the opportunity to wash his hands off this mess and instead counteroffer to move in with her in hopes that her memory would return. Damien prides himself in making good business deals, so this lose-lose situation makes no sense at all.
