Some of these poems have been published in Living Water, Writing at Wyoming, Wyoming Writers, The Anglican Digest, The Wyoming Churchman, and The American Poetry Anthology 1986. The poem "Jonah and Me" won first prize in the religious division of the 1986 American Poetry Society competition. "Wyoming" placed third in the Wyoming Writers annual poetry competition in 1987.

Autorenporträt
Allyene Palmer was born in Southwestern Colorado and grew up in Laramie, Wyoming. She lived on a ranch in the upper western corner of the Wind River Indian Reservation for many years, with space and solitude and time for thinking. During these years, she wrote many of her earlier poems. In the 1960's, she did professional church work in Cleveland, Ohio, and continued to write. Allyene Palmer is the wife of an Episcopal priest and currently lives in Denver, Colorado and Dubois, Wyoming. She and her husband share seven children, all of whom are grown with families of their own, seventeen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
