A native of Rockford, Illinois, Linda Schiro-Ross resided in Naperville, Illinois, for thirty-two years with her husband, Larry. The couple are now retired and reside in Citrus County, Florida. Together, they have two married daughters, and four grandchildren. A second-generation Italian American, Linda was exposed to the ways and customs of her family. She has always been passionate about her past and has handed some of these traditions down to her children, as well as the traditions of the Russian and Romanian heritage of her husband. Linda is a graduate of Moser Secretarial School in Chicago and worked as a legal secretary for a top law firm in the city. After having children, she was fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom for many years. She then returned to the working world as an administrative assistant to the assistant superintendent of a school district in Naperville and Aurora, Illinois. Except for the North and South Poles, Linda has travelled to every continent, visiting many countries. To highlight a few, she snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, swam in the Amazon River in Peru and went on a safari in Africa while riding an elephant. She also hiked the treacherous trail to the Sun Gate at Machu Picchu A tennis player, Linda and her USTA team won the 2009 Florida State Championship in the 3.0 division and travelled to Tucson, Arizona vieing for the national championship, but was defeated. Cooking and sewing have also been her life-long interests. While her life has been fulfilling, she has been extremely passionate in writing this book.
