Ronan Joyce was born in Connemara, in the West of Ireland, in 1967. He was educated at Garbally College, Ballinasloe, and the Limerick School of Art and Design. For the past thirty years, he has wandered the earth working as a journalist for an eclectic array of newspapers, including the Bangkok Post, the Hong Kong Standard, the Sunday World and the Irish Daily Star.
