NEVAEH - THE LOST CITY OF NEMEA

OMEGA CHRONICLES - BOOK 2

"If you were to destroy the belief in immortality in mankind, not only love but every living force on which the continuation of all life in the world depends, would dry up at once." - Fyodor Dostoevsky

Many people believe that being immortal is a bliss, something that is priceless… something that one would do next to anything for. Would it be a bliss to live long enough to see all your loved ones perish? To wander around the world in loneliness, for every friend you ever made have run out of time to spend with you? Personally, I think not! It's not a bliss. If anything, it's a downright curse.

This story about the lost city of Nemea is a subgenre of the fantasy or science fiction genres that involves the discovery of an unknown world out of time and place. The second novel in the Omega Chronicles series is also a subgenre of the late Victorian adventure romance. This story has a similar theme to other mythical kingdoms, The Lost City of Altinova in Book 1 and others, such as Atlantis and El Dorado.

Lucas Petersen, a professor at the University of Texas, is resting quietly in his apartment on Guadalupe Street near the main campus. There's a knock at his door that surprised him. He is visited by Tommy Hansen, a good friend. With him, he brought a steel box, sat it down at his friend's table, and explained his unusual request, including the fact that he was soon to die. Part of the request was that the contents of the box couldn't be disclosed for twenty years.

Later that day, Lucas received a message that his good friend did in fact die the same night, after visiting with him. At that time, he adopted his friend's five-year old son and waited over twenty years to open the steel box.

After twenty years, Lucas and his adopted son read of the quest they must follow into the darkest of jungles in Peru, a place more than one thousand miles northeast of Lima.

As they journeyed, the men encountered a most terrible storm, a river full of crocodiles, never-ending mosquitos, seven-foot-tall savages, huge Anaconda snakes, cannibals, and last but not least, Queen Nevaeh herself.

Just before reaching the end of their quest, the adventurers found a never-ending city, breathtakingly beautiful with old Greek architecture. The patterns of the roadways and the buildings were geometrical to the very last brick. The statues of Gods and Goddesses were perfect. The stone lions appeared ready to spring off their perches at any second. In the center of the Lost City of Nemea was the next to last step for the adventurers before pressing on towards their final destination, the Pillar of Life.

Autorenporträt
Sidney St. James is a published author, professional genealogist, historian, world traveler, photographer, and distinguished public speaker. Passionate about what he does, his stories will transport you to another time and place.

He began writing his first novel, Adversity Seeking the Faith, in the spring of 1995. It appeared on bookshelves with very little fanfare. It was the beginning of six novels in his Faith Chronicles Series. He follows a family from Oldenburg, Germany as they travel to Texas in 1845 and face many adversities along the way to establish a new life in a new country. His second in the series was The Rose of Brays Bayou which is a true story written from the memoirs of Dilue Rose Harris of the Runaway Scrape in Texas. His third in the series was Faith Seventy Times Seven, a true story about the first ordained woman minister in the State of Louisiana and how she found forgiveness every day for twenty years from an abusive and alcoholic husband. Thirty-six more novels follow his first series in Science Fiction, Creative Nonfiction, Romance Suspense and Thrillers, and Religion genres.

Speaking of romance, James is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there's a lot of kissing, much to the embarrassment of his two grown daughters. His wife doesn't complain, however. When he's not reading or writing sexy stories, he's probably playing Black Desert Online or Riders of Icarus with his wife or on the Xbox playing Tiger Wood's golf game or downtown Georgetown, Texas playing Pokémon.

He also loves to play matchmaker in his paranormal romances and young adult series, transporting readers to a place where the bold heroes have endearing flaws, the women are smarter than they lead on, the land is lush and untamed, and chivalry is alive and well.

He lives near Sun City in Georgetown, Texas with his wife Barbara and a cat named "Fluffy" and he can occasionally be found wearing a tie... and I do mean "occasionally."

As a Best Selling Author, James writes sweet, fun and action-packed detective mystery books with two super exciting detectives, Vincent Gideon, and Bridget Flynn. They both are smart and fearless, but in real life, James is afraid of going upstairs when it's dark behind him.
