The author was born on 8. september 1931 in Martin, Slovakia. He studied at the Agricultural University in Brno. At the University of California in Davis and at the University of Hohenheime in Stuttgart he developed models for metabolic processes. In years 1979 - 1995 he was professor at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart, Germany.
