Eighteen-year-old American actress Rosemary comes to rest, meets a young couple. She falls in love with Dick at first sight and he loves her back. Their feelings go through difficult tests, lovers part for a long time more than once, and Nicole's life does not work out either. All the heroes of the novel experience a streak of failures and disappointments.
