Mildred had grown up in a prejudice culture so didn't like members of other races and looked down on them. Mildred had to learn to adjust when Tammy's black husband dropped the kids off at Mildred's house and told Tammy that she had full custody due to the divorce. Mildred was shocked to learn that she would have little black kids living with her who were soon calling her grandmother.
This humorous short story is told from the viewpoint of her son who lives in a different town, but who she calls on for help. This short story is suitable for audiences of all ages.
