James R. Fogg Jr. is a retired airline pilot, and he was also a rescue pilot in the Vietnam War, flying 146 combat missions for the purpose of rescuing other pilots who had been shot down by enemy gun or missile fire. He is the coauthor of Vietnam to Western Airlines (2013), which documents his efforts to recover these gallant aviators and safely return them to their loving wives, children, mothers, and fathers.
