Autorenporträt
Lonny E. Young was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. He dropped out of high school in the tenth grade; summer of 1963 his mother told him, "either you go back to school or you enlist in the military." Lonny chose the United States Air Force. The day after his seventeenth birthday he headed to Basic Training in Texas, spent two years at Travis Air Force Base in California before he was sent to Vietnam; he finished his four years at Forbes Air Force Base in Topeka, Kansas. One month after discharge he went to work for United Parcel Service. Lonny met his wife in November of 1966; they married in June of 1967. They have two daughters, Tammy and Shannon, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. In 1979, they moved to Levasy, Missouri. July of 1981, Lonny was saved, from that day forward God began work on him. After about ten years God had seen fit to call, Lonny, as a pastor, to a small church in Freeman, Missouri, where he pastored for two and a half years, where some of the greatest people you will ever meet. One of Lonny's greatest mistakes was taking his eyes off God; he left and went to work for the National Archives and Records Administration (N.A.R.A.) in Lees Summit, Missouri. Lonny retired in 2008, moved to Grain Valley, Missouri and began serving at First Baptist Church. In 2017, Lonny wrote his first book, "The Path", a daily devotional through the Bible in one year; a year later he wrote "David's Walk with God", a novel on the life of David. God has taught Lonny many lessons along the way; he hopes to share those in the books God has given to write.
