OOGLEUMPH is a children's story, a fictional account of a journey long foretold by Zandorians, a civilisation of small, pear-shaped people enslaved by the evil tyrant, Draco, commander of the dreaded Zolans. Book One, Pug-Pin's Quest, is the first of two books and tells of Pug-Pin's epic attempts to find and save his father from the clutches of Draco before it's too late.

Ancient Zandorian legend predicted that after a long period of turmoil, strange beings would eventually come to their rescue, and that when that time came, not one king, but two would arrive in the direction of The Light to the Stairway of Kings. By cataclysmic accident, two young friends are transported from 1960s Lancashire to a time and place beyond their wildest imagination. On the way there, they form an indestructible bond with the Zandorians.

In their quest to help the Zandorians, the boys encounter the Muppin, a society of creatures who live, think and move as a single entity. Long believed to be little more than creatures of myth, the Muppin prove an invaluable aid in their ensuing confrontations with the Zolans.

Autorenporträt
F J Shindler was born in Manchester, England, but lived in various parts of the U.K. before retiring to a very rural part of the Czech Republic.

As an author of short stories aimed at a more mature audience, F J Shindler has recently published the first of twelve hard-boiled novels in the 'Klub Päris Fantastiline' series. Not for the faint-hearted, book one, 'The Ninth Case File' is set in 1966 and is titled 'Mikey'.

Book two, 'The Sixth Case File' is currently in production and is titled, 'Inga'. Told against the backdrop of a friendship between two kidnapped women in the closing stages of war in Europe, theirs is a story of escape from turmoil, of love and betrayal, and of hatred. Most of all, it's a story of revenge, and of the hunt for one man.
