Autorenporträt
Dr Willem Laubscher is a urologist who had operated Nelson Mandela, Walter Sisulu, Govan Mbeki and a number other political prisoners in the eighties. Ironically, when PW Botha needed a similar medical intervention, he too chose Laubscher to perform the operation. Laubscher rose to become the president of the College of Urologists. After retiring from full-time practice, he studied law and eventually became an advocate, allowed to perform in our countries highest courts. Laubscher has recently turned ninety. He has retired to Bettys Bay.
