Gaetano Isola (DDS, PhD, Pg Oral Surg): Associate Professor of Periodontology at the School of Dentistry, University of Catania, Italy. PhD in "Physiopathology of the Stomatognatic Apparatus and Dental Materials" at the University of Turin, Turin, Italy. Visiting Research fellow at the "Laboratory the Study of Calcified Tissues and Biomaterials" at the Department of Periodontology Université de Montréal, Canada. Advanced Course in Periodontology at the University of Ferrara. Three-year certificate in Oral Surgery at the University of Naples "Federico II". His research interests are mainly focused on the clinical and molecular aspects of periodontal disease and oral medicine. Active member of the Italian Society of Oral Surgery (SIdCO), International Association of Dental Research (IADR), Italian Society of the Oral Pathology (SIPMO) and member of the Italian Society of Periodontology (SIdP). Advisor of several research projects and speaker at national and international conferences of Periodontology and Oral Medicine. Author of over 180 national and international peer-reviewed publications.

Alessandro Polizzi (DDS): Graduated in Dentistry from the University of Catania with a first-class honour's degree (110/110 cum laude) with the Thesis entitled: "Analysis of the response to two pharmacological protocols in patients with oral Lichen Planus: experimental study". Postgraduate student in the Postgraduate School of Orthodontics, University of L'Aquila, Italy. His research interests are mainly focused on the clinical and molecular aspects of periodontal disease, oral medicine and surgery and orthodontics. Involved in several research projects in the field of periodontology and oral surgery. Member of the Association of Italian Orthodontics Specialists (ASIO) and aggregate member of the Italian Association of Dentists (AIO).

Santonocito Simona (DDS): Graduated in Dentistry from the University of Catania with a first-class honour's degree (110/110 cum laude) with the Thesis entitled: "Analysis of the Efficacy of Two Treatment Protocols for Patients with Symptomatic Oral Lichen Planus". Her research interests are mainly focused on the clinical and molecular aspects of periodontal disease, oral medicine and surgery. Involved in several research projects in the field of periodontology and oral surgery.

Rosalia Leonardi - Full Professor of Dentistry, Med 28; 06/F1. Dean of the School of Dentistry, Head of the Orthodontic post-graduate program and Chair of the Division of Orthodontics at the University of Catania, Italy. She has participated to international research projects: "Oro-facial development and regeneration"CostB23 for this seach project she has been included by MIUR in the Managment Committe "Interactive Tracing and Graphical Annotation in Pen-based E-learning" financed by European Funds "Minerva" She is a member of SIDO (Italian Society of Orthodontics), EOS (European Orthodontic Society), AAO (American Association of Orthodontists) and WFO (World Federation of Orthodontics). She has Authored and Co-Authored over 222 publications.
