I was born on a farm in a small town known as Reagor Springs, Texas, Which is located five miles Southeast of Waxahachie in Central Ellis County. Today, the Springs is more of a tourist site. But as a child, I remember the Springs as a closely knit community where children played together under watchful eyes of their parents and (or) neighbors. There was a phrase commonly used in that day, and even today it is well known: "It takes a village to raise a child." 'A' Village suggests one community, taking interest in the protection and safety of just one child. How much more protected would our children be if every community took this once, traditional approach to keeping watchful eyes and listening ears for the safety of every child?
