Autorenporträt
Marie Eliades earned her B.A. and M.A. in clinical psychology (with a concentration in marriage, family, and child counseling) at Antioch University, Los Angeles, California. Over the course of a decade, while raising her family, she completed a rigorous series of courses earning a diploma in Orthodox Christian Studies through Saint Athanasius Academy of Orthodox Theology (1997-2010). She and her family were parishioners of Nativity of Christ Greek Orthodox Church in Novato, CA from 1996-2014 when she and her husband moved to Dunlap, CA. Marie was a long-term editor/columnist of The Trading Post column in The Handmaiden - An Orthodox Christian Women's Journal (1997-2008). In 2004 she began working with Constantine Zalalas, of Saint Nicodemos Publications, organizing transcribers, as well as transcribing and editing various Orthodox Christian theological books, many of which bring the teachings of Archimandrite Athanasios Mitilinaios (1927-2006) from Greek into the English written word. Concurrently, in 2008, she began collecting, editing, formatting, designing, and producing an anthology of writings published as Orthodox Christian Parenting ¿ Cultivating God¿s Creation in 2013 under the company she created, Zoë Press. She has been blessed with help from a small army of friends, laity, parents, priest wives, priests, and monastic volunteers through the years. The first volume in the Revelation series, Homilies on the Book of the Revelation was published in 2009, after which Marie began learning book design and publishing resulting in the second volume: Revelation: The Seven Seals - Orthodox Christian Lessons by Archimandrite Athanasios Mitilinaios in 2014, Revelation: The Seven Trumpets & The Antichrist - Orthodox Christian Lessons in 2015, and Revelation: The Seven Golden Lampstands (vol. 1 - 2nd edition) - Orthodox Christian Lessons series has been translated and adapted by Constantine Zalalas. The third Revelation volume completes 57 of the 104 lessons given by Elder Athanasios. In the fall of 2015 Marie, Zoë Press, served as Copy & Managing Editor for the English version of Tears of Repentance True Experiences in A Greek Taxi Cabby Athanasios Katigas, published by Saint Nicodemos Publications. Marie met her husband, Peter G. Eliades, in 1982, has been married nearly three decades, and raised three children. She earned a California teaching credential and homeschooled their children through high school. Two children attended and graduated from UC Berkeley and the third graduated from UC Davis. Their daughter is a monastic. Their middle son serves in the altar at his parish and is successful in his career. Their youngest son began graduate studies at Holy Cross seminary in 2015. Marie is a very blessed woman and the sole proprietor of Zoë Press. Glory to God for all things!
