Republishing this book aims to achieve three goals together: the first is to make rare and important books available to the reader, as the book had previously been published in only two editions, the first in Cairo in 1997, and three years later it was published in Baghdad. Since 1952, no new edition of the book has been published, so it is a rare book. The second is to celebrate the works of the famous Irish writer Oscar Wilde. The third goal is represented in some form of restoration of respect for the translator of the book, who is the poet. The writer Abdo Ismail Al-Tahtawi, who was a glorious poet and an able translator, did not receive the appreciation and attention he deserved. This book, which includes seven selected stories, in which Oscar Wilde seeks to combine exotic literature with moral motivation and criticism of society in simple, calm language.
