Federal agents, nicknamed safety maids, enforced the department's rules. Jean-Paris Foxglove was once a safety maid. In the aftermath of the events at Magnolia Tower, Agent Foxglove is on the run when the federal government dissolves the US Social Agents (the safety maids) and issues bounties for the agents who refuse to turn in their gun and badge. Foxglove must use violence and make questionable choices to survive from the slew of relentless bounty hunters and the regular police after her. All the while, past secrets of the serum called advantage formula (injected by the safety maids) and of the Great Calamity, which killed all men, begin to unravel. Paris is forced to confront everything head-on and potentially destroy herself in the process.
