Autorenporträt
Paul Last was born in Chelmsford, Essex in 1939 and has resided in the county all his life. In 1963 he met and married Pam, a Suffolk farmers daughter. They have two married sons and six grandchildren. On retirement in 1998 Pam and Paul took up golf and travelling. Whilst on a trip to Portugal in December 2002 they met a couple who persuaded him to take up writing poetry and short stories. Since then, he has written over 600 poems and 45 short stories. Whilst touring in UK and Europe in his motorhome he had plenty of time to write. At first the thoughts and ideas came slowly but then new plots, storylines and ideas started to flow and gather pace in his mind. Because of continually being on the move he decided that his medium was short stories and poetry with that in mind he started to write. Once he had started, he couldn't stop, the words flowed from his pen. He originally thought that ten stories would be enough to produce a reasonably sized book, but now that the writing bug had bitten him, he couldn't stop and so the figure increased to fifteen stories. In fact, over the years the figure has increased to forty-five but the next thirty stories will have to wait for the publication of two more books. He sincerely hopes that all readers will enjoy the stories as he has enjoyed writing them.
