This village is being governed and plundered by ambitious mining and lumber companies, by men of wealth and power, until one of their own changes the agenda, because he had learned from these backwoods villagers about a wealth far deeper, far more enduring.

In tales that come from a place far to the north of everywhere, the age-old conflict between powerful and powerless creates turmoil, though it drives changes as well. The final resolution, however, is shaped by the oldest force in the world.
