Inspired by the work of the avant-garde French writer, Alain Robbe-Grillet, this short story takes the form of the dynamic visualisation of a fictional tableau of an ostensibly simple domestic scene. A woman rinsing cutlery at the kitchen sink looks out of the window into the evening darkness of the back garden, while behind her, her husband in his armchair watches television and pets a small dog. But as the description of the tableau progresses and details emerge that conflict with this initial interpretation, the reader's interpretation of the situation should switch.
