Wer gerne isst kocht auch gerne. So habe ich schon immer am Herd gestanden und anderen über die Schulter geschaut. Erste professionelle Erfahrungen habe ich während der Ferienzeiten in der Küche eines italienischen Restaurants erfahren. Als Bäcker habe ich dann gelernt mit Lebensmitteln richtig umzugehen. Frisches Obst und Gemüse aus dem heimischen Garten wollten zudem verarbeitet werden. So fing ich an meine Rezepte schriftlich festzuhalten und meinen Mitmenschen nahe zu bringen. Meine Feldküche Kauer M58 war das erste große Projekt der Bücherreihe 'Volksrezepte'. Dann kamen Grillen und BBQ. In meinen Rezepten geht es darum Lebensmittel ohne viel Aufwand und Brimborium zu verarbeiten, und schmackhafte Speisen daraus zu machen. Schlichte Rezepte zum nachkochen, und keine Bilderbücher.
