Prof. Haibin Yu has been with Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) since April 1993, and currently is the director of Shenyang Branch, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received his B.S. and M.S. from the Northeastern University, Shenyang, P.R. China in Industrial Automation in 1984 and 1987 respectively, and Ph. D degree from the same university in Control Theory and Control Engineering in 1997. Prof. Yu's primary research interests are in industrial communication and control systems, and the development of industrial sensor network technology. His research has been funded by both basic and applied research agencies in China, including Preliminary Program by National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program), National Natural Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars, Key Project of National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Major Program on Science and Technology, Main Directional Program of Chinese Academy of Sciencesand National High-tech R&D Program of China (863 Program). His research group at SIA has published more than 200 technical papers and two books. His research work has continually received national recognition through winning several prestigious awards such as the State Technological Invention Award, State Science and Technology Progress Award, and Provincial and Ministerial Awards. The Wireless Networks for Industrial Automation-Process Automation (WIA-PA) technology standard proposed by his team was approved by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) as an international standard: WIA-PA Communication Network and Communication Profile 62601 in 2011. He is an ISA Fellow.
Prof. Haibin Yu has also been very active in serving professional communities. He is the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Information and Control. He is also the Chairman of China National Technical Committee for Industrial Process Measurement and Control Standardization, the Deputy Directorof Chinese Association of Automation. He is also an expert member for Intelligent Manufacturing Fund of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China. He served as Peer-reviewer in Automation for National Natural Sciences Foundation of China.
Prof. Peng Zeng received the Ph.D. degree in mechatronic engineering from the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 2005. He is currently a Vice Director of Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenyang, China. He is also the Director of the Network Control System Key Laboratory, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has authored or coauthored more than 100 conference papers, journal articles, and book chapters related to his research area and five pending/filed U.S. patents. His research interests include wireless sensor network and industrial communication technologies.
Prof. Meng Zheng received his B.S. degree in information and computing science and his M.S. degree in operational research and cybernetics from Northeastern University, Shenyang, China, in 2005 and 2008 respectively, and his Ph.D. degree in mechatronic engineering from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 2012. From November 2010 to October 2012, he was a visiting Ph.D. student with Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute, Berlin, Germany. From December 2018 to November 2019, he was a visiting scholar with Technical University of Berlin, Berlin, Germany. He won the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars in 2020. He is currently a Professor with Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research interests include industrial wireless networks and Internet of Things.
Prof. Chi Xu received the Ph.D. degree from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 2017. He is an Associate Professor with Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenyang, China. His research interests include industrial wireless networks, 5G URLLC, and tactile Internet. Dr. Xu serves as a 3GPP standardization delegate. He is a Voting Member of IEEE 1918.1 Working Group for Tactile Internet and a member of IEEE 1932.1 Working Group for Licensed/Unlicensed Spectrum Interoperability in Wireless Mobile Networks.
Prof. XiJin received the Ph.D. degree in computer science from Northeastern University, Shenyang, China, in 2013. She is currently a Professor with the Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. Her research interests include industrial networks, real-time scheduling, Internet of Things, and cyber-physical systems. Prof. Jin is also a senior member of China Computer Federation (CCF) and a committee member of the CCF technical committee on embedded systems.
Prof. Wei Liang received the PhD degree in mechatronic engineering from Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenyang, China, in 2002. She is currently a professor at the Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. As a primary participant/a project leader, she developed the WIA-PA and WIA-FA standards for industrial wireless networks, which are specified by IEC62601 and IEC 62948, respectively. Her current research interests include industrial wireless networks and Internet of Things. She was a recipient of the International Electrotechnical Commission 1906 Award in 2015, as a distinguished expert of industrial wireless network technology and standards. She is a senior member of the IEEE.
