John is a 1978 graduate of Gannon University where he studied biology and writing. He ascribed to the theory of having a backup plan. While writing and perfecting his craft, John worked in the healthcare system for over thirty years. In 2017, he had several short stories published in a book about writing titled "Prompted, Prodded, Published". Also 2017, John had a flash fiction story published in an online magazine Silverbirch Press about his first job as a 'Paperboy'. In 2020 John had a short story "The Eternal Voyage" published in "Books of Horror Anthology" by RJ Roles.
Since 2020, John has been enthusiastically writing and has published seven books. They include a collection of short stories (Short Stories to Read While You Wait), a paranormal romance (The Lonely Lady), a pandemic (Virulent Strain), a serial killer (The Copperhill Killer), and several horror anthologies (Of Bloody Deeds, Of Madness and Monsters, and Love and Dead Endings and Monsters in the Shadows). His most recent is Pershing House which is a fictitious story about his college days in the Pershing Rifles fraternity and is about overcoming obstacles and sacrificing to achieve a goal.
When not writing, John enjoys watching hockey and enjoys music. He admits to being a fan of Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne and ended up in a mosh-pit at one concert. (Not by design. The pit broke out behind him, and he did not see it until it was too late. He now wears the event as a badge of honor.)
John enjoys science fiction/ fantasy and stories which challenge the reader to think. He is influenced by the "Twilight Zone", the writings of Albert Camus, and enjoys the Dune novels by Frank Herbert. John lives in a Pittsburgh suburb with his wife and cats.
