This book of 156 haiku is not one of those books, not verbal snapshots of Japanese seasons and Mt. Fuji nor of daffodils, butterflies, maple leaves, or snowflakes. The 156 haiku in this book are extruded from personal experiences, encounters with physics, with politics, with marriages, with travel in far places, and with life in general. They are grain-of-sand sized myths, the kind of myths distilled from a lifetime of experiences sharpened and honed by the whetstone of a lived life. May they resonate with your life as well.

Autorenporträt
I am deeply indebted to Susan B. Auld for editing the manuscript of this book. Susan is an extraordinary haiku poet. She is also a good friend of many years standing. Her work can be found in many online and print journals. One of the best examples of her work is her Red Moon Press chapbook, Chrysanthemum Dusk. Likewise, I am indebted to Jed Buttress for the creation of this book's cover. Jed is an award-winning, British, investigative artist and curator. His works in sculpture and digital art invent new ways to tell a story that captivates his viewers. Dan Schwerin, long an excellent haiku poet as well as a friend, was very kind to write an after comment after reading the draft manuscript of this book.
