Lemuel Abijah Abbott (1842-1911) was an officer of the United States Army during the Civil War. Abbott joined the Army in 1862 as a private in Company B, 10th Regiment, Volunteer Vermont Infantry, of Waterbury, Vermont. During his U.S. Army career Abbott was a participant in several Civil War battles and skirmishes. After the war he served in the western United States, where he participated in actions against Indians. Abbott retired with the rank of Major.
