Drug abuse and addiction are pervasive problems that have plagued humankind throughout the millenniacurrent times being no exception. Many personalized accounts of such activities fill the literature; while the biomedical community continually generates copious amounts of information on the subject. Yet, few authors have provided us with a philosophical examination of this dilemma. This book seeks to help fill this voidas it was written to examine the psychosocial forces at work underlying this problem.
