Redeemed and made alive in Christ, but where has spiritual zeal gone? Why are you not feeling alive in Christ? So many Christians have pondered these questions. You would perhaps gladly declare that you want better fellowship with your Savior; you want to be more devoted in heart to Him. What is holding you back? Has Christian commotion drained you? Have life circumstances appeared so daunting that your faith seems like a dried raisin? Has anxiety riddled your heart and mind more than you care to admit? Autorenporträt
Kevin Petrus was raised in Carlisle, Arkansas, as a Catholic. He was presented the option of a Catholic or Protestant Bible by the Gideons at age eight and began a pursuit to determine the difference by reading the Bible.

At sixteen, Kevin accepted an invitation from high school friends to attend a local Baptist church. Through the witness of these friends and the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ, both from the pulpit and during Sunday school, he was convicted of his sins. In the summer of 1985, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at the home of these friends.

He was also baptized that same year by Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. Because of this affiliation, he was asked to choose Catholicism or leave home. He chose the latter.

In 1986, having felt persuaded by God, Kevin surrendered to the desire to preach and quickly enrolled in the Missionary Baptist Seminary at Little Rock, Arkansas. He has three years of Bible training from the seminary.

In 1987, he married his high school sweetheart, Yvonne Holcomb. They have three children: Courtney, Braxton, and Allison.

Since 1994, Kevin has been pastor to Oakdale Missionary Baptist Church of Lonoke, Arkansas.
