Sul pianeta N° 5, molto evoluto ed ordinato, vivono ed operano personaggi e robot. L'ispettore Wo, osservatore attento di quanto avviene sul pianeta Terra, costruisce il robot Tuby Toby con una intelligenza simile ai terrestri. La difficoltà di utilizzare utilmente il robot sul pianeta N° 5 costringerà i due ad affrontare il desiderato viaggio interstellare verso il Pianeta Terra. Quando arrivano, dopo un viaggio durato più di un secolo, trovano una Terra diversa da quella che osservavano prima della partenza, infatti la distruzione dell'ambiente, le guerre, il consumismo e la violenza lo hanno modificato. Sono accolti bene ma finiscono per creare dei problemi sino a quando Tuby Toby non diventa una specie di eroe terrestre grazie alle sue abilità negli sport. Collaborano alle ricerche scientifiche terrestri finché una crescente nevrosi che colpisce Tuby Toby non li costringe a salire sull'astronave per rientrare a casa.

On planet No. 5, a very evolved and orderly planet, live and operate characters and robots. Inspector Wo, a keen observer of what happens on planet Earth, builds the robot Tuby Toby with an intelligence similar to Earthlings. The difficulty of using the robot usefully on planet No. 5 will force the two to make the desired interstellar journey to Planet Earth. When they arrive, after a journey lasting more than a century, they find an Earth different from the one they observed before their departure, in fact the destruction of the environment, wars, consumerism and violence have modified it. They are welcomed well but end up creating problems until Tuby Toby becomes a kind of Earth hero thanks to his skills in sports. They collaborate in Earth's scientific research until a growing neurosis that affects Tuby Toby forces them to board the spaceship to return home.

Josephine Pratt T. (Jody) è nata nel 1925 a New York. Orfana di madre in tenera età e con il padre ufficiale dell U.S. Navy, è stata allevata dalle nonne. Diplomatasi insegnante di inglese, nel 1954 ha seguito il fratello tenore in Italia, dove si è fermata. Ha seguito corsi di architettura e di mosaico presso il Castello Sforzesco di Milano. E' stata disegnatrice di moda, ha insegnato e ama decorare la ceramica. Ha sempre frequentato gli artisti milanesi. Dalle nonne ha appreso l'arte di narrare. Nel corso degli anni ha scritto numerose favole. Tra il 2010 ed il 2016 ne pubblica alcune in edizione bilingue italiano-inglese: Ti piacciono le fragole? Ala solitaria, Gani e Chokananda, Ossa pigre e Il pagliaccio. Questo racconto fantascientifico, Pianeta N°5 scritto negli anni '50, è sorprendente per i temi attuali che anticipa.Josephine Pratt T. (Jody) was born in 1925 in New York City. Orphaned by her mother at an early age and with her father a U.S. Navy officer, she was raised by her grandmothers. After graduating as an English teacher, in 1954 she followed her tenor brother to Italy, where she stayed. She took courses in architecture and mosaic at the Castello Sforzesco in Milan. She has been a fashion designer, taught and loves to decorate ceramics. She has always frequented Milanese artists. From her grandmothers she learned the art of storytelling. Over the years she has written numerous fairy tales. Between 2010 and 2016 she published some of them in a bilingual Italian-English edition: Ti piace le strawole? Lonely Wing, Gani and Chokananda, Lazy Bones, and The Clown. This science fiction short story, Planet No. 5 written in the 1950s, is surprising for the current themes it anticipates.
