Autorenporträt
Athanasia Batziou has a Ph.D. in visual communication and is the author of Picturing Immigration: Photojournalistic Representation of Immigrants in the Greek and Spanish Press (2011), which the current article draws from and adapts to a media ecology framework. Athanasia studied law before pursuing studies in communication and media at the University of Amsterdam. She has worked as a press officer for the European Commission, as a documentary producer for Greek public broadcasting and as a project manager in advertising campaigns and has taught various courses in the field of communication and media at the University of Athens and other higher education institutions.
