The simplicity of nature and complexity of human nature come together in Pieces of the World. Nancy K. Crevier's verses capture what is seen, heard, and felt in her inner and outer worlds.
The world is as beautiful and troublesome as the people who inhabit it: hope resides with fear; love with hate; life with death in these poems that grasp at the ethereal and real. Her poems invite wonder with words and images that, piece by piece, reveal vivid portraits of beings she has encountered in this lifetime.
It is the "wing song" of birds, the "feral pendulum" of a fox, "the beat of a butterfly's heart" that reveal the poet's intersection with the natural world, while "Tender Lies" and "Smoke Signals" are devastatingly intimate.
Crevier's newest collection has much to offer readers, poetry fans, and nature lovers.
