Everything seems to be moving along well until a hometown hero comes back to St. Raphael and suddenly, people are turning their backs on her. How that happened, she has no idea!
August Clement has been in the NFL for over a decade and a half. He's gotten the Super Bowl rings to prove it! When a career threatening injury makes him reconsider the rest of his life, he decides to retire and moves back to St. Raphael to find out that his family's business is facing an outside threat. His mother and father don't seem to have a problem with the upstart business across the long driveway. They think it's cute!
Or rather, they think their neighbor is cute. How can they when her business is a direct threat to the family tree farm that has existed in St. Raphael for generations.
Many of the denizens in town quickly fall in behind the Clements and start to turn cold shoulders in Lucy's direction, making her rethink her idea of settling in their small town, but just as quickly as he finds out that he's winning, August begins to realize that he doesn't want her to leave.
