John E. Hodgetts (1917-2009) was a Canadian political scientist who is considered the father of public administration studies in Canada. He started teaching political science at the University of Toronto in 1943, where he remained a professor emeritus until his death.

John Edwin Hodgetts (1917-2009) was a political scientist and educator. He taught at Queen's University (1945-65) and University of Toronto (1943-45, 1965-82) and was head of the department of political studies at Queen's, principal of Victoria College (1967-70) and president of Victoria University, at University of Toronto (1970-72).
