This is a rather small selected collection of 101 poems written over the years covering various subjects which should be of interest to everyone. Anyone should be able to find a poem to his liking, as the poems are so varied and appeal to all age groups. I started writing in high school but there was a long hiatus due to time constraints taken up by medical schooling and the residency training years - leaving hardly any time for outside activities.

I started writing again when I was stationed at Ft. Sill, OK, during the Desert Shield / Desert Storm conflict as part of my deployment while in the US Army Reserves. I was asked by the Editor of our Medical County Society's magazine - "Coastal Bend Medicine" to write something about my experience while still at Ft. Sill. I wrote an essay and decided to include a poem to go along with it - "The Citizen Soldier" - honoring our various services reservists. However, It's just been in the past few years that I have "rediscovered" my penchant for writing again - for my own enjoyment and to share with family and friends, and now with you.
