On March 7, 1995, at the age of 96, the author passed away. In preparation for her funeral, Patterson read through her notebook. It was then that Patterson began to really know her. Donna Blair Patterson is now retired. However, throughout her career, she was a teacher, a guidance counselor, a professor, and Dean of the College of Education and Human Services at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. During her career, she wrote for The Mainstream and Education Week. This is her first book since her retirement.
