Autorenporträt
Farshid Zabihian has over 25 years of academic and industrial experience in the energy industry. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at California State University, Sacramento. He earned a MASc and BSc, both in mechanical engineering, at the Iran University of Science and Technology and Amirkabir University of Technology, Iran, respectively. He worked in the power generation industry for about a decade in various capacities before returning to academia. He earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2011 from Ryerson University, Canada. He was the recipient of the Governor General's Academic Gold Medal, the highest academic honor at the graduate level in Canada. He was previously an Assistant Professor at West Virginia University Institute of Technology between 2011 and 2016. He joined Sacramento State in 2016. His research focus is on sustainable electricity generation, including renewable energy resources and advanced fossil fuel power plants, through experimental and numerical approaches. He has published over 110 journal and conference papers, books, and book chapters. He also enjoys integrating sustainability into his teaching at the college level and beyond.
