Produktbeschreibung
Practical Aspects of Electroorganic Synthesis presents educational insights into the practical aspects of electrosynthesis methods, providing a variety of examples and techniques. The book covers concepts referred to as "green chemistry" and "sustainable technology." Sections cover direct electrolysis, anodic oxidation, cathodic reduction, mechanistic studies (cyclic voltammetry), and how to set-up electrochemical experiments. Indirect electrolysis is also covered, including an exploration of catalysts and additives to take on modern electrochemical methods. Finally, the book explores the burgeoning new field of paired electrolysis, in which the ultimate green-synthesis applications are possible, with no wasted electrons and very few by-products.

This book offers researchers a modern and authoritative resource that brings complete and up-to-date practical concepts of electrosynthesis methods and guides the audience on how to carry out a large number of experimental techniques.

  • Discusses complete and up-to-date practical concepts of electrosynthesis methods
  • Provides sound insights into the experimental approaches of electrosynthesis, covering new and novel synthesis techniques
  • Breaks down the fundamentals aspects of electrolysis into three digestible and logical sections

Autorenporträt
Davood Nematollahi is a Professor in the Faculty of Chemistry at Bu-Ali Sina University. He completed his PhD with Prof. S. M. Golabi at Tabriz University in 1996 in Electrochemistry. His research is at the intersection of electrochemistry, organic chemistry, and environment chemistry with a focus on fundamental aspects of electroorganic chemistry. He also works on rational design to better understand or discover interesting electrochemical techniques in organic synthesis. He is particularly interested in using green conditions to synthesize of organic compounds. He has published over 400 papers in international journals. In 2012 he was named an ISI highly cited researcher (top 0.1 %). Nematollahi has won several major awards in Iran.Saber Alizadeh was born in 1987 in Tabriz, Iran, and received his MSc degree from the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS) in 2014 for his research on the electrosynthesis and application of mesoporous silica structures under the supervision of Dr. M. Rafiee and Prof. Dr. B. Karimi. He received his PhD degree and a postdoctoral fellowship from Bu-Ali Sina University (BASU) in 2022 for his research on the electrosynthesis and application of metal-organic framework structures under the supervision of Prof. Dr. D. Nematollahi. His research focuses on the application of nanomaterials for electroorganic synthesis, electrocatalysis, and supercapacitors in green conditions. In 2023 he won the Khwarizmi Youth Award and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) National Award for his research on the design and manufacture of nano-porous catalysts for electrosynthesis of chemical precursors.Ameneh Amani is an Assistant Professor of Analytical Chemistry at Nahavand Higher Education Complex, Bu-Ali Sina University. She obtained her B.Sc. from Damghan University, her M.Sc., and Ph.D. from Bu-Ali-Sina University under the supervision of Professor Davood Nematollahi in 2013. Currently, Amani's research involves Electrochemistry, Electrosynthesis of organic compounds, and the investigation of electrochemistry of medicinal plants.Sadegh Khazalpour was born in 1986 in Hamedan and obtained his BSc and his MSc from Bu-Ali Sina University with Prof. Davood Nematollahi as the supervisor. During his studies, he completed his thesis on the electrochemical study of 4-(1-piperazino)phenol and resazurin. After that, he became a PhD student in Analytical Chemistry at the University of Bu-Ali Sina under the supervision of Prof. Davood Nematollahi. His research is focused on the electrochemical study of N, N-dimethyl-p-nitrosoaniline, and synthesis of new sulfonamides and electrochemical synthesis of nanoporous mixed ligand metal-organic frameworks: DMOF-1-Zn. He has been a faculty member of Bu-Ali Sina University since 2015.
