Erasmus of Rotterdam (1466 - 1536) and Sebastian Brant (1458 - 1521) are among the most famous humanist thinkers of the Renaissance. They wrote a lot of scientific works, but it was their philosophical and satirical works that brought them real fame, in which they showed reality, as well as all of humanity and the whole world from the point of view of stupidity. As one of the researchers of Erasmus's work noted, when reading "In Praise of Folly", sometimes you involuntarily forget that it was written in the 16th century, to such an extent it is fresh, vital and modern - and this can also be fully attributed to Brant's "Ship of Fools".
