Ivan Ohienko is a historian and writer, linguist, publisher, teacher, public, political and church figure. He defended the idea of ¿¿political independence of the state and reliance on its own forces in solving its internal problems. Dualism is inherent in his state-building concept, which was manifested in the recognition that Ukrainian statehood can only take place on the basis of close cooperation between the people and the national elite.
