Dualism is inherent in his state-building concept, which was manifested in the recognition that Ukrainian statehood can only take place on the basis of close cooperation between the people and the national elite. He made a significant contribution to the development of archival affairs of Ukraine, as a source scholar introduced a large number of valuable historical monuments into scientific circulation, including Ukrainian, Russian, Belarusian, Moldovan, Polish, Slovak, Czech, Greek, etc.
