Man will value what comes from his body. As with any pregnancy, the carrier of that which is to be born, still needs help to bring the new life into the world. Metaphorically speaking, the beauty that is to be birthed out of us, we need help from a trained professional, who sees from an angle that we cannot. Adam's rib covered vital internal organs. This is type in shadow of what value the wife has in marriage. She is a vital part of his structure. She covers him inside. And since she is a vital part of him, he must handle her with care. She is his rib."Bone of my bone. Flesh of my flesh". The birthing process is bloody and nasty. Only a trained surgeon can open up a person, see past the gory mess, in order to birth something beautiful out of them. Adam could not have stood to see his insides. He was kept asleep and unaware of what was taking place. Scriptures said that his sleep was "deep". God did not wake Adam up until surgery was completed, and all evidence of surgery was removed. The clean up keeps the patient from all the gory details. The only evidence of surgery that Adam needed, was his beautiful wife. Likewise, with us, there are times we will be oblivious to what is happining when God has begun the birthing process. He sedates us with his peace. He knows what we can, and cannot stand to see (understand) at the moment. According to scriptures, there is lots of ugliness inside of our human nature. Only a trained professional can stand to behold all of ugly, take out a vital part, and make something beautiful. Adam did not need the gory details. A rib was missing. But what was gained was worth far more than what was lost.
