Autorenporträt

The author, Dr. Now, is an educational specialist in early childhood and elementary education. As an educator in South Carolina for 34 years, Dr. Now fulfilled numerous roles and responsibilities, including teaching in the public schools and serving as facilitator of a Parents As Teacher project. In this project, Dr. Now established a Parents' University to provide training to help parents devise strategies to reinforce reading skills in mathematics activities at home. Dr. Now developed a love for mathematics as a child when her dad sparked her interest in numbers with word problems. Throughout the day, she and her siblings solved math problems as they completed chores on the farm. Dr. Now stated, "My Daddy would always say that I was going to be his little doctor, and God saw fit to fulfill Daddy's prophecy when I was the first member of my immediate family to receive a doctorate degree."
